Sarah, the courageous

Sarah had her backpack taken yesterday. When it was returned, someone had taken permanent marker and written, "CHINA" on it. It upset Sarah, but she wrote about it to help her clear her thoughts. Her science teacher put some special powder on her bag and it took the ink out! He told her she would be pleased with the results. The vice-principal called Alan and told him about the incident and said that it would be investigated. I imagine it's just middle school kids being stupid...Sarah didn't want to go to school today, but I told her she was my strongest kid. I knew she would face today bravely and put the incident behind her. This morning she was all smiles and doing fine!

I'm proud of you, Sarah! You've always been brave. I have a photo of you when you were 4 years old and you have a firm little chin. Being brave does not mean that sometimes you don't get scared, but it means you move forward and do what needs to be done in spite of it.
